Dad went to graduate school at the University of Western Colorado in Greeley. In 1958, he bought a 1939 school bus and converted it into a camper with bunkbeds. We spent that summer in Greeley, living in the parking lot of the University’s football stadium while he attended classes. The next year, we rented a house at 1708 8th Avenue, across the street from the campus. The basement was rented out to students. The school bus was parked in the alley behind the house. Here we spent the school year 1957-58, before returning to Minnesota. We returned during the summer of 1960 so Dad could attend classes. On weekends we did a lot of camping in the mountains.
